New at Lilac: ADHD Assessment & IQ Testing
Understanding how we think, learn, focus, and function can provide valuable insight—especially when challenges with attention, organization, learning, or executive functioning begin to affect everyday life.
Lilac Therapy Center is now offering ADHD Assessment and IQ Testing for children ages 5+, adolescents, and adults.
Our assessment services are designed to provide a more complete picture of an individual's strengths, challenges, cognitive functioning, and needs—and to offer recommendations that can be useful beyond the assessment itself.
ADHD Assessment: More Than a Checklist
ADHD can look different from person to person. While attention and impulsivity are commonly associated with ADHD, it can also affect executive functioning, working memory, organization, time management, task initiation, emotional regulation, and other areas of daily life.
That's why a thoughtful evaluation looks beyond a list of symptoms.
At Lilac, ADHD assessments bring together multiple sources of information, which may include clinical interviews, developmental and educational history, self- and observer-report measures, and performance-based measures.
No single test can diagnose ADHD. Instead, the goal is to develop a clearer understanding of the whole person and how their individual strengths and challenges may be affecting everyday life.
Our ADHD Assessment Options
Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation — $2,500
Our most thorough assessment option is designed to provide a broad understanding of cognitive functioning, attention, executive functioning, and the individual's overall profile.
The comprehensive evaluation includes:
Thorough intake and review of background
Cognitive functioning assessment (IQ)
Performance measures of sustained attention and impulse control
Broad exploration of executive functioning
Self- and observer-report scales
90-minute intake evaluation
3-hour testing period
Feedback meeting
Comprehensive report and recommendations
This option provides the most complete picture and may be appropriate when a more in-depth understanding of cognitive and executive functioning is desired.
Diagnostic ADHD Screener — $1,000
The Diagnostic ADHD Screener provides a more focused evaluation centered primarily on the ADHD diagnostic profile.
It includes:
Thorough intake and review of background
Performance measures of sustained attention and impulse control
Self- and observer-report scales
2-hour testing period, including intake and performance measures
Feedback meeting
Report and recommendations focused primarily on the diagnostic profile
Both options are designed to provide meaningful information while recognizing that every individual's needs are different.
IQ-Only Evaluation — $600
Lilac also offers an IQ-only evaluation for individuals who need an assessment of cognitive ability without a full ADHD evaluation.
This two-hour testing session provides an IQ assessment and brief report. It may be appropriate for situations such as private school admissions or gifted testing.
The IQ-only evaluation does not include a formal feedback session or recommendations.
Why Assessment?
Sometimes, the question isn't simply “Does this person have ADHD?”
It may be:
Why is school so difficult?
Why is staying organized such a struggle?
Why can I focus intensely on some things but not others?
Why does something that seems easy for everyone else feel so hard?
Assessment can provide information that helps replace frustration and uncertainty with greater understanding.
For children and teens, that understanding can help parents, educators, and clinicians identify appropriate support. For adults, it can provide insight into long-standing patterns and challenges. And for anyone being evaluated, it can help identify strategies that fit the way their brain works.
Real Evaluation. Real Expertise. Real Answers.
Assessment at Lilac Therapy Center is conducted by Dr. Gabriella Terry, a post-doctoral fellow with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and experience across educational settings, college counseling, and community mental health.
Her person-centered approach extends into assessment, with an emphasis on understanding the individual—not simply identifying symptoms or assigning a diagnosis.
The goal is a clearer picture of how you or your child thinks, learns, and functions, along with recommendations that can actually help.
