Dr. Gabriella Terry, Psy.D.
Post-Doctoral Fellow
Hello! My name is Dr. Gabriella Terry, and I am a post-doctoral fellow at Lilac Therapy Center LLC. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate concerns about body image, find freedom from anxious or intrusive thoughts, and build healthier relationships overall. My therapeutic approach is anchored in person-centered therapy, emphasizing the principles of empathy, self-actualization, and human connection in order to create positive change. I believe that there is a special dynamic between therapist and client and that creating a positive therapeutic alliance is paramount to achieving clients’ therapy goals.
In my clinical practice, I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and adults in navigating difficulties with body image, life transitions, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
I have completed extensive clinical research on both positive and negative body image, as well as the impact of social media in relation to one’s body and relationships with others. Through our work, my clients feel empowered and more confident in their bodies, while better understanding the external factors that can impact an internal sense of self. I am also passionate about community outreach and enjoy providing support and understanding through small group talks or presentations. Additionally, I can provide psychological and intellectual testing.
