Adrienne Pollichemi, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Montgomery County, PA

Hello! My name is Adrienne Pollichemi, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Lilac Therapy Center, LLC.  I have over 20 years of experience providing a trusting, affirming and connected space for children, teens, families, and parents to make meaningful change in therapy.  My early clinical work was with children and families healing from severe trauma, and I went on to use this experience to support children in schools, help teens with social and emotional challenges, and empower parents to improve their relationships with their children.  My experience has led me to integrate healing practices and fun to support and guide children, teens, and families. I believe that people experience all kinds of mental health challenges yet have the strength and resiliency to heal and learn how to find their true spirit.  It takes courage to reach out and seek help, and that strength is the place I connect with to provide hope and confidence for my clients.

I’m a therapist for children, teens, parents and families.

I specialize in working with children and teens around areas of anxiety, trauma, challenging behaviors, school and social concerns, and relationships.  Through eclectic combinations of active sessions, play, creative arts, and mindfulness, I help people develop coping strategies to “turn down the volume” on their uncomfortable emotions and discover how important validating and accepting all feelings can be.  I am also trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, as well as Sand Tray Therapy.  Raising my own children, I have deeply understood the complexity of meeting our children’s needs while balancing the importance of our own needs as parents.  My approach to therapy aims to give children and teens a private space to feel safe and honored while also working collaboratively with parents to strengthen relationships and interactions at home.  I understand there are more demands on children, teens, and families than ever before, and with the distractions and information sharing inherent in our children’s lives, connecting with our kids and giving them space to feel confident is even more vital.  I strive to meet each person where they are, to illuminate their strengths, to use humor and levity to alleviate the weight of therapy, and to help uncover each individual’s best self while working towards specific goals for healing.
